This dress fit me perfectly. It gives my waist a good shape, but still fits with some ease. I like the stretch velvet fabric. The dress will be warm & cozy but still look dressed up during the Midwest winter weather & will work with heels or boots. This is my 2nd dress in Everyday Velvet. Great fabric and style.

Everyday Velvet Cocoon Dress, Black

I’m always looking for a classic black velvet dress for the winter/holiday season and finally found one that will get plenty of wear in the years to come. I have this cocoon dress in the Tekbika fabric, love the fit, and decided the velvet version would be great also. I’m 5’5”, around 173 pounds, and the dress hits my lower calf but not quite a maxi. I ordered my usual size 5, and the overall fit is perfect. The velvet is a heavier weight, and I’m hoping I won’t be too warm wearing it. The sleeves are too long on me, so I’ll have them shortened to my favorite 3/4 length which should be a little cooler as well. I just received it today, and it was pretty much wrinkle free right out of the box which was a nice surprise. Also enclosed was the pink T-shirt gift which is a high quality, stretchy knit in a generous size. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness- it’s beautiful!
